I had been traveling non-stop for six weeks, when I got lucky enough to stay at the Valmor in Lisbon. I had gotten to the point where I was tiring of small hotel rooms, dirty laundry, and eating out for every meal.

I just loved the roomy kitchen, and after so many meals eating out, it was great to finally cook for myself, and make my own coffee. There was a grocery store and three health food stores nearby, so I was basically in heaven.

When I didn’t feel like cooking, there were great restaurants nearby. I love eating momos at Casa Nepal, and I had one of the best burgers of my life at the Lateral Bistro.

There was a washing machine, and I finally got to do my own laundry.

The living room was cozy and full of light. I loved the vibrant orange décor which put me in a great mood everyday.

The bathroom was clean and roomy, too.

The Valmor even came with two computers and a printer for me to use!

There was even a loft bedroom for more people to sleep in.

My favorite part of the apartment, though, was the two balconies which overlooked Lisbon. I loved sitting out there and watching the planes take off and land from the nearby airport. Valmor was such a comfortable place to stay that I had a hard time making myself leave the apartment to go out and explore Lisbon.

I truly hated the moment when I had to check out of the ValMor. Ir wasn’t just a place to stay. It was a place that comforted me, rejuvenated me, and made me feel like I had a place to call my own.
